I'm a musky guide in North Eastern Ontario Canada. The main lake I guide on is a huge 214,000 acre inland sea connected to the Great Lakes chain. I was all set to buy a used Triton 215, known widely as the driest ride in rough water of any multi-species boat out there. But when I saw the new 216 Fishunter, I had to inquire about the changes from the 215. I did my research and I took a chance and ordered a 216. Am I ever glad I did! Not only does the 216 ride like a dream and facilitate all my gear, it handles the real rough stuff with ease and makes me feel completely confident and safe out on the big lake with clients in the boat. One day we had to revive a 51 inch musky in the huge 60 inch live well while motoring to calmer waters. The musky shared the live well with 6 good sized walleye and all were happy and healthy for the experience! I paired my 216 with a 300hp Mercury Verado. The 101 inch beam on the 216 floats this beast no problem. These two marine machines were made for each other! I got 63.5 mph right out of the gate without fine tuning or customizing props. The bow on the 216, though smaller than the 215, is still more than roomy enough for 2 anglers...or 3 marine biologists. During a study out in rough water, 3 of us stood on the bow in 3 foot waves and we never got wet! It was amazing! I'll be posting a short video of my rough water experiences in the 216 at the end of the season, suffice it to say that I am completely satisfied with this boat! And this might sound like another shameless plug but I can tell you that this Triton 216 is the major contributor to the best season I've ever had to date and the season's only half over! Thank you Triton for listening to your customers! You've got a definite winner! Dan Colomby / Nipissing Muskies Guide Services 2013
